The Hausa represent one of the largest ethnic groups in Nigeria. Based primarily in the Northern states of Nigeria the largest populations of Hausa are centered around the ancient City States of Kano, Zaria and Sokoto. Hausa music and culture are highly diverse and many dynamic musical instruments, such as Kakaki (brass trumpet) goge (1 or 2 string fiddle) molo (3 string lute) are used to accompany the primarily vocal based music.
